What Painting Hundreds of Pugs Has Taught Me

Hello, I'm Claire, and I'm a pugaholic. You might know me better as Chickenpants, because that's the name I've been releasing pug paintings under for yeaaaaaars. Nearly every day for the last 10! years.

Here's just a few of the things I've learned from all that:

  • Pug people are AMAZING! Pug lovers are wonderful people with big hearts (and often, great senses of humor!). They're what kept me creating pug art for so long. I couldn't have done it without their cheerful encouragement along the way, and I am forever grateful for their support.

  • Every pug is unique. No two pug faces are the same - each one has its own little constellation of wrinkles.

  • Getting sneezed on by a pug is known as a "pug blessing", and it is a great honor. 😆

    - Nature's white noise machine: sleeping with a pug snoring and snorting in the room.

    - Pugs look amazing in outfits, and costumes:

    - Pugs emit magical fibers of happiness known as pug glitter (Shedding pug hair? No... pug glitter!)

  • And finally: When you find something you love to do, keep doing it! It will lead you to unexpected places!
